In this first lesson, we’re going to​ give ourselves permission to truly go for it and ​dig​ ​deep…​ ​I’m​ ​not​ ​talking​ ​about​ ​how​ ​much​ ​weight​ ​you​ ​want​ ​to lose,​ ​I​ ​want​ ​to​ ​know​ ​how​ ​it’s​ ​going​ ​to​ ​make​ ​you​ ​feel​ ​when​ ​you achieve​ ​that?​ ​We’re​ ​going​ ​to​ ​find​ ​out​ ​what’s​ ​at​ ​the​ ​heart​ ​of​ ​your goal​ ​and​ ​what​ ​you​ ​value.​ ​When​ ​you​ ​know​ ​what​ ​you​ ​value,​ ​it’s easier​ ​to​ ​stay​ ​on​ ​track​ ​and​ ​say​ ​YES​ ​to​ ​what​ ​you​ ​want.​ ​We’re​ ​also going​ ​to​ ​find​ ​out​ ​what​ ​brings​ ​you​ ​the​ ​most​ ​joy.​ ​When​ ​you’re following​ ​your​ ​joy,​ ​good​ ​things​ ​will​ ​start​ ​to​ ​come​ ​from​ ​that.​ ​​

When​ ​I defined​ ​my​ ​values​ ​and​ ​started​ ​following​ ​the​ ​things​ ​that​ ​brought​ ​me joy,​ ​I​ ​said​ ​NO​ ​to​ ​the​ ​things​ ​that​ ​didn’t​ ​align​ ​with​ ​my​ ​goals​ ​and​ ​felt happier​ ​for​ ​saying​ ​YES​ ​to​ ​me​ ​and​ ​what​ ​I​ ​wanted!”

You’ll get a progressive workout​ ​plan​ ​each month to​ ​do​ ​on​ ​your​ ​own,​ ​plus​ ​a grocery​ ​list​ ​of​ ​healthy​ ​foods.​ ​We’ll​ ​also​ ​talk​ ​about​ ​how​ ​to​ ​achieve results​ ​while​ ​still​ ​having​ ​a​ ​treat​ ​now​ ​and​ ​then.​ ​​

Affirmations

What we​ ​say​ ​is​ ​what​ ​we​ ​become.​ ​​

My​ ​internal​ ​voice​ ​was​ ​saying, “I’m​ ​not​ ​a​ ​good​ ​wife,​ ​I’m​ ​not​ ​a​ ​good​ ​mother,​ ​I’m​ ​not​ ​successful,​ ​and I’m​ ​not​ ​happy.” ​​

Everyone’s​ ​internal​ ​voice​ ​says​ ​something​ ​different, so​ ​we’ll​ ​discover​ ​what​ ​our​ ​“gremlin”​ ​is​ ​saying​ ​and​ ​how​ ​we​ ​can​ ​turn it​ ​around​ ​and​ ​start​ ​cultivating​ ​a​ ​strong​ ​relationship​ ​with​ ​ourselves.

Meditation

Silence is​ ​powerful.​ ​When​ ​we​ ​get​ ​quiet​ ​and​ ​listen,​ ​our​ ​heart​ ​will speak​ ​to​ ​us.​ 

“I​ ​started​ ​by​ ​meditating​ ​2-5​ ​minutes​ ​each​ ​day​ ​in​ ​the morning​ ​and​ ​when​ ​I​ ​was​ ​doing​ ​that,​ ​it​ ​became​ ​easier​ ​to​ ​listen​ ​to​ ​my intuition,​ ​which​ ​put​ ​me​ ​on​ ​purpose​ ​and​ ​helped​ ​me​ ​create​ ​a​ ​deeper connection​ ​with​ ​myself.”

Gratitude

When you​ ​are​ ​thankful​ ​for​ ​what​ ​you​ ​have,​ ​you​ ​will​ ​get​ ​more.​ ​​

“I​ ​used to​ ​make​ ​a​ ​list​ ​and​ ​write​ ​down​ ​“10​ ​things​ ​I’m​ ​grateful​ ​for…”​ ​and found​ ​that​ ​I​ ​wasn’t​ ​truly​ ​connecting​ ​to​ ​the​ ​feeling​ ​of​ ​being​ ​grateful. When​ ​I​ ​found​ ​out​ ​when​ ​I​ ​was​ ​in​ ​my​ ​“receptive​ ​mode”​ ​I​ ​was​ ​able​ ​to connect​ ​and​ ​feel​ ​true​ ​gratitude​ ​for​ ​everything​ ​in​ ​my​ ​life​ ​like​ ​never before​ ​and​ ​that​ ​changed​ ​everything.”

Journaling

Sitting with​ ​our​ ​feelings​ ​and​ ​taking​ ​some​ ​time​ ​to​ ​discover​ ​what​ ​the deeper​ ​meaning​ ​could​ ​be.​ ​​Most​ ​of​ ​the​ ​time​ ​we’re​ ​running​ ​from​ ​our feelings​ ​instead​ ​of​ ​looking​ ​deeper​ ​as​ ​to​ ​what​ ​they​ ​could​ ​mean.

“When​ ​I​ ​started​ ​journaling​ ​it​ ​was​ ​another​ ​way​ ​to​ ​get​ ​everything​ ​out of​ ​my​ ​head​ ​on​ ​paper​ ​and​ ​look​ ​at​ ​the​ ​bigger​ ​picture.​ ​I​ ​use​ ​it​ ​now​ ​as also​ ​a​ ​visualization​ ​technique​ ​too,​ ​to​ ​help​ ​bring​ ​me​ ​closer​ ​to​ ​my goals.”

Putting it all together: the FIT & FIERCE™ Morning Routine

We’re going​ ​to​ ​put​ ​all​ ​lessons​ ​together​ ​and​ ​make​ ​our​ ​own​ ​morning routines​ ​to​ ​keep​ ​us​ ​going.​ ​​

“Most​ ​of​ ​the​ ​time​ ​I​ ​hear​ ​moms​ ​say​ ​they don’t​ ​have​ ​enough​ ​time.​ ​When​ ​I​ ​started​ ​getting​ ​up​ ​an​ ​hour​ ​before my​ ​kids,​ ​it​ ​didn’t​ ​physically​ ​create​ ​more​ ​time,​ ​but​ ​because​ ​I​ ​spent that​ ​hour​ ​by​ ​myself​ ​and​ ​focusing​ ​my​ ​needs​ ​first,​ ​it​ ​created​ ​the illusion​ ​that​ ​I​ ​had​ ​more​ ​time​ ​and​ ​I​ ​actually​ ​was​ ​more​ ​productive​ ​in my​ ​day.”

I loved this first lesson. So many great things to think through and actually write down. Giving myself permission to be imperfect, a work in progress and still stepping into all I was made for.
